Game Recap

The Lady Knights played a non-conference game against the Spartans of Southern Durham.

The game was scoreless with 10 minutes left in the first half when the Knights broke through and scored two goals in a 6 minute span. The first goal was scored by sophomore Callie Hammond with the assist from freshman Sydney Miller. The Knights scored again 6 minutes later off a free kick from junior Emma Howard.

In the second half the Knights tallied 3 more goals coming from better play in all facets of the game. Sydney Miller notched another assist when freshman Serenity Ellis scored her first goal of the season. Callie Hammond scored again off a beautiful cross from senior Mika Mitre. The last goal of the night was scored by junior Jenna Garrison off of an assist from Callie Hammond.

The midfield and defense controlled the pace of the game and played outstanding defense on the Spartans. The Knights only allowed 3 shots throughout the night.

The Lady Knights play in their first conference game of the season Wednesday against cross town rival Riverside. Kickoff is at 6:30pm at Riverside High School.
