Northern Durham crushed visiting Chapel Hill, 52-6 Friday night getting back on the winning track after last week’s loss.
Daylan Felton and the Northern Durham offense wasted little time getting on the board in this one as Felton’s one yard plunge early in the first quarter gave the Knights the 7-0 lead. The Knights would take a 14-0 lead into the second quarter after a pick-six by Laderrick Neville doubled their lead. Northern Durham would add a touchdown in the second to push its lead to 21-0 at the break.
The Knight defense added another score in the third quarter as Jahvon Daniels’ fumble recovery for a score made it 28-0. After a Northern Durham field goal, Felton would continue to put this one out of reach as he hauled in a 27 yard touchdown reception for the 38-0 lead. Chapel Hill would get on the board late to prevent the shutout, but the damage had been done. Northern Durham (6-2, Big Eight 3-1) hosts Hillside next Friday night at 7:00 pm. Chapel Hill (1-7, Big Eight 1-3) hosts Southern Durham next Friday night at 7:00 pm.
